If the answer is yes, then you will be thrilled to know about The FEBS Journal’s latest creative competition: ‘My PhD in a nutshell’!

The goal of this competition is to highlight your research project in a creative and engaging way, through text, artwork or another form of media. Whether it is through an essay that beautifully recapitulates the research project, an original image or illustration (cartoon, poster, photo) or a video, you are welcome to submit your entries in this celebration of science!


The winning entry will be awarded 500€ and runner-up prizes of 300€ and 200€ will be awarded for second and third place, respectively.



Please submit your entries by Monday August 16th, 2021.


Who can participate?

Entries from any early-career scientist (somebody who is within 4 years of obtaining their PhD) working in a field relevant to the journal’s scope will be considered.


How to submit?

Send your entry to The FEBS Journal editorial team at [email protected], ensuring that your email bears the subject heading ‘Creative Competition: My PhD in a nutshell’. Large files can be sent using a file transfer system such as WeTransfer or Dropbox.
