This talk is an activity from the FEBS Junior Section, an initiative set up by students and young researchers from some of the FEBS Constituent Societies. Each month a Junior Section from one of the participant Societies organizes an online event on either a research or a career topic. This December event is the twelfth of their 2022 series and is an career talk organised by ÖGMBT-YLSA, the Junior Section of the Austrian Society ÖGMBT.

Abstract
Botond Cseh, PhD, did his postdoctoral research in the Max F. Perutz Laboratories, in Vienna, where he worked on the protein-protein complexes in the RAF/MEK/ERK pathway and RAF's role in vascular permeability and cytoskeletal rearrangements at endothelial cell-cell junctions. During his postdoc he started several initiatives to improve the careers of early-stage researchers, and he also became acquainted with the Open Innovation methods in science. After his postdoc he left academia for the private sector, where he worked as a consultant and on a number of user-driven projects. He is currently a Brand and Customer Manager in Oncology for the pharmaceutical industry.
