Email notifications from the FEBS Network
If you are registered on the FEBS Network, you will have received one or two emails from the platform over the past few weeks asking you to opt in to continue to receive certain Network notifications.
The changes introduced with the new European Union (EU) data protection law – the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – on the 25th May 2018, mean we can only continue to send you certain email notifications from the FEBS Network if you give us explicit permission. While you will still receive emails for the basic operation of the Network, unless you opt in you will no longer receive the following notifications, designed to help you get the most from the FEBS Network:
- When someone upvotes content you created
- When someone comments on content you created
- When someone follows you
You can manage which emails you receive via your new notification preferences page*. This page replaces the old email preferences page and gives your more control over the emails you do and don’t want to receive from the FEBS Network.
You may also notice the possibility to opt in to a weekly digest notification of Network content. This is not yet activated on the FEBS Network but is something we might introduce in the near future. If you'd like to receive this digest, you can opt in now.
So, if you have not already done so, please check your preferences to ensure you’re getting the emails you need from the FEBS Network*.

An updated FEBS Privacy Policy
In response to the introduction of GDPR, FEBS has also updated its Privacy Policy to give you a clearer understanding of how we collect and use your personal data across a range of FEBS activities, including the FEBS Network, and keep it safe. It also explains what rights you have to access and change your personal data.
