The invitation

"It is our great pleasure and honour to invite you to participate in the 20th FEBS Young Scientists' Forum (YSF 2020) to be held from 1st to 4th July 2020 in Lovran, Opatija Riviera, Croatia. The event will take place at the Remisens Hotel Excelsior (4*) situated right on the Adriatic Sea and surrounded by a tree-filled park.

The YSF 2020, which is organized just ahead of and in conjunction with the 45th FEBS Congress in Ljubljana, Slovenia, will bring together about 100 PhD students and postdocs from across the FEBS area, with those selected to participate supported by FEBS YSF grants. Participants will present and discuss their research from biochemistry and related fields, benefit from career skills development, and also go on to experience the ensuing 45th FEBS Congress in Ljubljana from 4th to 9th July 2020.

The scientific programme and the social events at YSF 2020 will provide you with an excellent opportunity for a rewarding scientific and personal experience, including exchanging ideas with colleagues and establishing new acquaintances.

We hope you will join us at the YSF 2020 and enjoy a special experience in Lovran, one of the oldest coastal villages on the eastern shore of the Istrian peninsula.

We are looking forward to welcome you in Lovran!"

Insight into the YSF experience from our colleagues

"For me the YSF together with the FEBS Congress was more than just a regular conference. In addition to a great scientific program, it was an excellent opportunity for networking, meeting researchers from all over the Europe and in a relaxed atmosphere discussing science and life, exchanging tips and tricks and forming new friendships that still last. It is definitely a valuable experience during a PhD that I would recommend to anyone.“
Ana Mitrović, Slovenia YSF2015 Berlin, Germany

"It was a great opportunity to meet young scientists from all over the world, to learn about what they do and attend interesting lectures. And of course, I had a great time with my new friends while discovering the beauties of Jerusalem and Israel.“
Tamara Zorbaz, Croatia YSF2017 Jerusalem, Israel

"The FEBS YSF 2018 in Prague was a great networking opportunity for me. Due to the small number of participants and rich and varied scientific and social programme I was able to get to know not only other participants, but also the speakers and organizers. I liked the scientific programme and found useful all the information I got on fellowships, publishing etc. I especially liked the one-on-one CV consulting.“
Mateja Prunk, Slovenia YSF2018 Prague, Czech Republic
