I am Havva Özgen Eyüpoğlu, a young science enthusiast and a doctoral candidate conducting research on extracellular vesicles (exosomes) and tumor immunotherapy development. My passion for science began during my high school years, and I have always pursued the goal of becoming a skilled scientist. Since my university years, I have actively participated in conferences and workshops to enhance my knowledge, and I have strived to contribute to the scientific literature through extensive research hours in the laboratory, an effort that continues to this day.

Being able to contribute to the scientific community and share my findings with researchers from around the world is an invaluable feeling. As young scientists, continuously updating our knowledge, connecting with other researchers and academics, and engaging in knowledge exchange to foster potential multidisciplinary collaborative studies are crucial aspects of our journey. Supporting and motivating young researchers at this juncture is of great importance. However, in developing countries, researchers face challenges in securing funding for their projects, engaging in collaborative research, and participating in scientific events overseas.

This is where the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) plays a significant role. There are numerous opportunities for scientists worldwide provided by FEBS to support research and education in the molecular life sciences. The FEBS community brings together thousands of scientists, creating an environment that fosters marvelously collaborative work. The events include early-career meetings, fellowships, advanced courses, and annual meetings.

This year's annual FEBS meeting (47th FEBS Congress) was held in Tours, a beautiful city in France. I had the chance to attend and present my research at this event, and I would like to express my gratitude to the organizing committee for their exceptional work. Beyond the excellent scientific sessions, networking became an essential aspect of the congress. Scientists found themselves engaged in conversations with experts they had previously admired only from a distance. These interactions, whether during coffee breaks or at poster sessions, were invaluable. The genuine interest shown by esteemed researchers in the work of young scientists nurtured a sense of belonging in the scientific community. Young scientists gathered the courage to present their research, receiving constructive feedback and motivation in return.

Moreover, the congress offered the opportunity to explore the world of scientific publishing and medical technology companies. At the exhibition booths, adorned with prestigious journals and innovative medical technology companies, attendees gained valuable insights into the intricacies of sharing scientific discoveries with the global audience, as well as staying updated on the recent technological developments in the molecular sciences. Thus, the motivation to share discoveries with the broader scientific community and contribute to the collective pool of knowledge was profound among scientists.

Last but not least, as a member of the FEBS family, I had the privilege of being involved in establishing a Junior Section in the Turkish Biochemical Society, alongside my colleagues from Turkey. What an honor! I am eagerly looking forward to offering my services for future events and supporting all young scientists in any way I can.
