About Marina Tapias Martín
Biochemist 👩🏻🔬 specialized in cell signaling and passionate about 🧠 with experience in clinical trials of medical devices 🩻.
Right now, I'm doing my PhD in Neuroscience studying the role of the microbiome 🦠 and the inflamatory status in hearing loss processes 👂🏻, while I'm in charge of the Junior Section at SEBBM 🔝.
I'm a very curious and versatile person. After the Master, I worked as a CRA for about 3 years, and also gained some experience in Data Manager activities💻 and a bit in the field of Regulatory Affairs📄. But, I didn't feel it was my place, so I move back to the lab.
I love to learn new stuff every day and go deeper in each task 🧐. Being able to know each area within clinical trials and marketing of medical devices allowed me to understood and had a better picture💡of how the research reaches patients.
In addition, I am passionate about communication 💬 and science dissemination, whenever I can, I participate in activities that allow me to develop myself in this skill. For example, in dissemination contests, I won the first prize in two of them🥇.
During my time at university 🔬, I founded together with some colleagues an association, Biochemistry in Motion (BeM). For me, it is the achievement I'm most proud of, and a big part of who I'm now is because of it. I learned to manage teams👥, fight for projects to get funding 💶, organization of big events 🎟️ both face-to-face and online (congresses, activities for science week), marketing and digital skills 📣 to reach a wider audience. And above all: to dream 💭, because what was a crazy idea among friends, today is a reality located in several cities in Spain📍.
~The cell 🧫 is such an immense universe, where each advance will mean new questions~
