Junior-GBM

Junior section, German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Junior-GBM is the Junior Section of the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM). It was set up in 2011 to support the career development and networking opportunities of students and young researchers in the molecular life sciences in Germany. The Junior-GBM organise and deliver their own activities, under the supervision of their Society and all members of the Junior-GBM are members of the GBM. Junior-GBM are also part of the FEBS Junior Section. To find out more about the Junior-GBM read their overview post and check out the online talks and other activities they deliver, accesible from the 'Popular contributions' section below.
Young-NVBMB

Junior Section of NVBMB, NVBMB

Young-NVBMB is the Junior Section of the Netherlands Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NVBMB). It is a collaboration between NVBMB and several student organizations in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology across the Netherlands (e.g., GLV Idun, SV Mens, ULSV Amino, CODON, and SvBMT Protagoras). Young-NVBMV was set up in 2021 to support the career development and networking opportunities of students and young researchers in the molecular life sciences in the Netherlands. Tom Edwardson

Senior Scientist, ETH Zurich

Tom Edwardson comes from Scotland, where he started academic life studying chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. After completing a PhD in the area of DNA Nanotechnology at McGill University, Canada, he moved to Switzerland as a Human Frontiers Science Program (HFSP) postdoctoral fellow at the ETH Zurich. His postdoctoral research was focused on the engineering of nonviral protein cages for encapsulation and cellular delivery of diverse cargo molecules. Tom is currently senior scientist at ETH Zurich, and founder of Procavea Biotech, which develops innovative molecular delivery solutions to enable both RNA and small molecule medicines and address unmet clinical needs. In recognition of the potential impact of its technology platform, Procavea recently received the Swiss Technology Award.
