The students and young scientists of the FEBS Junior Section have launched the "Scientific publishing: expanding boundaries towards excellence" online talks in collaboration with the FEBS Press journals. The talk series is aimed at advancing early-career scientists and students towards excellence in scientific publishing and research integrity. The talks will be given by members of the Editorial offices of the FEBS Press journals. During the talks, participants will have a chance to learn from experts, enhance their knowledge in the field and ask questions.

“To read or not to read?” The title and abstract of your research article play a decisive role in the answer to this question in readers’ minds. A well-written title and abstract will ensure that your work stands out among the vast amount of content vying for readers’ attention online. In this webinar, we will discuss how to write a captivating title for your research manuscript and how to structure your abstract to ensure readers can easily follow and appreciate your work. The ability to write an effective title and abstract is an essential skill to master, as it will serve you throughout your scientific career and enhance the visibility and impact of your publications.
Juanita Perera is an Editor at FEBS Letters, a not-for-profit society journal for the rapid publication of research in the molecular life sciences. Juanita did her PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Rochester, New York, USA, and her post-doctoral research at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.
