The Hungarian Biochemical Society (MBKE) representing the disciplines of biochemistry and molecular biology, and the Hungarian Genetics Society (MAGE) acting for genetics, cell- and developmental biology, organize their fourth joint conference, entitled

„Hungarian Molecular Life Sciences 2019”,

in Eger, Hungary, between March 29-31, 2019. Scientists from institutions of higher education and research institutes of Hungary, as well as of its neighboring countries, are anticipated to attend the meeting. The goal of the conference is to establish a common forum for colleagues working in the fields of biochemistry, cell and structural biology, developmental biology, classic and molecular genetics, molecular biology of human diseases, systems biology, synthetic biology, genomics and bioinformatics. We aim to organize a conference with a creative and friendly atmosphere, where former acquaintances are renewed and new collaborative partnerships are formed. The official language of the conference is English.

The meeting will be held in the conference center of Hotel Eger-Park in Eger. It has been selected so that the lecture halls, the poster exhibition area and that of the company exhibitors are hosted in one building, together with the restaurants and social rooms, providing ample possibilities for professional discussions and recreational activities alike. Eger is a well-known touristic attraction of Hungary, famous for its wines, thermal water and historical monuments.

MBKE – The Hungarian Biochemical Society

The Hungarian Biochemical Society (HBS) is one of the eight founding members of FEBS. The aim of HBS is to support the work of Hungarian biochemists, molecular biologists and biotechnologists to increase the quality of research and education in molecular life sciences in the frame of universities and research centers of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. From the beginnings, HBS hosts regular meetings, methodological presentations and workshops, including three FEBS3+ conferences jointly organized with the Slovenian, Croatian and Serbian Societies. These provide the first opportunities for young researchers to present and critically discuss their results and to establish new professional relationships. HBS publishes the quarterly journal “Biokémia” including news and events of the Society, international scientific social issues, historical reviews and scientific publications. For over five decades, HBS significantly contributed to the work of FEBS committees and the editorial offices of its Journals and organized the 9th and 20th FEBS Meetings (1974, 1990) and the 30th FEBS Congress-9th IUBMB Conference (2015) in Budapest.
