The 42nd FEBS Congress movie

Like

If you attended the 2017 FEBS Congress in Jerusalem, enjoy spotting the plenary speakers in this video – and maybe even yourself! If you didn’t make it this year, be inspired to attend next year’s big event, in Prague. Some of the opportunities for early-career scientists at a FEBS Congress are outlined below.

The FEBS Congress takes place in a different country each year, hosted by one of the Constituent Societies of FEBS. The event attracts a wide range of molecular life scientists, but is particularly valuable to those in the early stages of their careers. It offers the chance to hear from leading researchers in fields beyond your own focus, to present your own work as posters and to be considered for oral presentations at a large international meeting, and to attend sessions of wider interest beyond the lab such as on education and on science and society. Moreover, it provides you with a unique opportunity to initiate collaborations through personal contacts and to get in touch with ‘big shots’ possibly looking for future postdoctoral fellows or junior professors at their institutions.

FEBS Congress bursaries are available to financially support participation of early-career scientists in the event, and there is also a preceding Young Scientists’ Forum (YSF) meeting for selected postdocs and PhD students who are funded by FEBS for participation in both the YSF and FEBS Congress.

Explore the early website for the 43rd FEBS Congress in Prague (7–12 July 2018) here: https://2018.febscongress.org. YSF and bursary application deadlines are early in 2018, and details of how to apply are expected to appear on the website soon.
