About Martin Sitte

I am a synthetic and molecular biologist with a strong passion for environmentally friendly, sustainable biotechnologies. As an undergraduate, I explored metabolic engineering in microbes to enable the sustainable production of bioplastic materials. During my PhD, I focus on uncovering the molecular principles of marine bioluminescence, using structural biology approaches to map the architecture and mechanisms of these fascinating proteins.
