I am a postdoctoral researcher in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with a strong research focus on the functional characterization of post-transcriptional modifications in human mRNAs. Since my doctoral training, my work has been focused on understanding how the epitranscriptomic layer of gene regulation shapes mRNA fate and function, moving beyond descriptive profiling toward the causal dissection of RNA modification–dependent regulatory mechanisms. My research aims to uncover how chemical modifications of mRNAs influence fundamental post-transcriptional processes, including mRNA stability, alternative splicing, translation efficiency and gene expression profiles, particularly in the context of human cancer and complex cellular phenotypes. A key objective of my work is to define how individual RNA modifications contribute to mRNA regulatory outcomes at the level of single transcripts and defined biological pathways. My long-term scientific goal is to develop versatile and targeted mRNA engineering strategies that enable precise functional interrogation of the human epitranscriptome, establishing a generalizable framework for decoding the epitranscriptomic code and linking RNA modification dynamics to biological function and disease-relevant phenotypes.
