We therefore announce the launch of a writing competition for early-stage cancer researchers, inviting contributions that effectively communicate cancer research to a lay audience.
If you are a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher within 4 years of obtaining a PhD and are active in any field of cancer research, you may participate to this competition by preparing a piece of up to 500 words. The scope of the piece may vary, but indicatively the following points could be addressed:
• What is the aim of your research?
• What steps you are taking to address key research questions?
• Why is your research important?
• How could it be translated to improve cancer diagnosis, prevention, or care?
• How is your research funded?
• What are your future plans and visions in the field of cancer research?
• What should the public know about your cancer research?
Send your entry to the Molecular Oncology editorial team at [email protected], ensuring that your email bears the subject heading ‘Molecular Oncology Writing Competition’.
Please submit your entries by March 4th, 2022.
Prizes: the winning entry will be awarded 500€ and runner-up prizes of 300€ and 200€ will be awarded for second and third place, respectively.
The winning entries are likely to be featured on the FEBS Network and the Molecular Oncology homepage.
