The 49th FEBS Congress – with the slogan ‘Bridging Continents to Advance Life Science’ – will take place in Istanbul, 5–9 July 2025, hosted by the Turkish Biochemical Society. The event will be a great opportunity to be updated with recent discoveries and trends across the field of biomolecular sciences. The program features world-leading scientists as plenary lectures – including Mübeccel Akdis on food allergy mechanisms, Andrea Ballabio on lysosomal signaling in cancer, Annette G. Beck-Sickinger on G protein-coupled peptide receptors, Gökhan S. Hotamışlıgil on metabolic diseases, and Anne Bertolotti on protein quality control in neurodegenerative diseases – as well as cutting-edge symposia on frontier research, and special sessions on research infrastructures, biochemistry and clinical laboratory medicine, innovative teaching, and scientific publishing.

But it’s not all about the invited speaker program. There are also opportunities to present your work as a poster, speed talk or symposia talk!

Posters: Posters are an important part of the Congress, often reporting some of the most up-to-date research at the event and a very useful aid for networking and discussing findings with others interested in the same questions or approaches. Posters will be presented in dedicated sessions, and poster prizes will be awarded by the four journals of FEBS Press.

Talks: Selected from abstract submissions, participants reporting particularly interesting, significant or relevant research may be invited to contribute talks of 15 minutes integrated into the symposia sessions. And this year symposia sessions will include some speed talks of 3 minutes from poster presenters as well, also selected from the submitted abstracts.

Abstracts accepted for the 49th FEBS Congress will be published in an online supplement of FEBS Open Bio.

13 March 2025 is a key date in the build up to the event. Submit your abstract by this date for consideration for talks and certain support schemes. It is also the deadline for the early registration fee.
