Since 2001, FEBS has funded the Young Scientists’ Forum (YSF) as a pre-congress event to foster interactions among PhD students and early-career postdoctoral researchers from FEBS Constituent Societies. This year, 103 participants were selected from ~300 applications to attend the YSF 2026 in Wageningen, the Netherlands, on 2–4 July. Following the YSF, participants will join the 50th FEBS Congress in Maastricht, gaining exposure to a much larger scientific event.

The award covers registration fees and accommodation for both the YSF and the FEBS Congress, as well as most travel expenses. More than just a prelude to the main congress, the YSF is a unique event for young scientists to present their research, exchange ideas, and build lasting connections with peers and mentors. The YSF 2026 program is designed specifically for early-career researchers, featuring keynote lectures, career development workshops, poster and short talk presentations by participants, and an engaging social program.
