Update 16 March 2020: Because of the current coronavirus situation in Europe, please note:

  • the deadline for Summer Fellowship Applications 2020 is now extended until 15 May 2020
  • for successful applications, the Fellowships office will allow possible postponement of the Fellowship until December 2020.

FEBS Summer Fellowships are intended to help promising PhD and Master's students in the FEBS area carry out research work for their degrees in a host lab in a different FEBS country. Successful applicants receive a single sum of money (€3500) towards travel and living costs for a short visit to the host institute, which should take place between 1 July and 30 October 2020. Depending on the proposed experiments, visits typically last between six and twelve weeks.

A prize of €500 is awarded to a FEBS Summer Fellow each year for the best report on work carried out during the Fellowship.

Full details, including a link to the online application system, can be found in the Summer Fellowships section of the FEBS website. For queries, please email the FEBS Fellowships Committee via the website's Contact Us form.

The application deadline for 2020 Summer Fellowships is 15 May 2020.
