A poster gallery of FEBS Constituent Societies

For the 60th anniversary of FEBS, the academic Societies in molecular biosciences that belong to the organization were invited to present their activities in poster format for display at the 48th FEBS Congress. If you missed the event, take a colourful tour of diverse Societies here!

As a Federation, FEBS brings together 39 learned Societies from countries of Europe and neighbouring regions as its 'Constituent Societies'. These are diverse in size and activities, and have their own unique founding stories and journeys of joining the FEBS family, yet all have similar aims of furthering molecular biosciences, providing opportunities to develop the careers of scientists in this research area, and creating a sense of community. As part of the FEBS 60th anniversary celebrations, and with the goal of fostering connections and networking, FEBS invited its member Societies to showcase their unique history, accomplishments, current initiatives and future aspirations through poster presentations at the 48th FEBS Congress in Milano, 29 June to 3 July 2024.

The result was an engaging visual display with varied approaches taken to present Society history and current activities, providing a contrast to the research posters in the Congress poster area. 'Member Society Representatives' from each Society were also present at their poster at certain times to answer questions. Altogether, the posters provided an opportunity for Congress participants to consider the contribution of learned Societies to the research landscape and find out more about opportunities provided by the Society in their own country, as well as serving as a starting point for Societies to discuss with each other their experiences, challenges and new ideas in supporting molecular life science research and researchers.
