FEBS Open Bio is launching a new initiative aimed at facilitating Early Career Researchers’ participation in the peer-review process, the Early Career Reviewer Hub. This initiative is aimed at PhD students and postdocs interested in scientific publishing and who wish to learn more about the peer-review process by actively participating in it. Successful applicants will receive training and guidance from FEBS Open Bio editorial staff members and will be involved in the peer review of Research Protocols in their area of expertise. Speaker’s biosketch

Sara Fuentes is the Managing Editor of FEBS Open Bio, an open access journal for the rapid publication of research and review articles in the molecular and cellular life sciences. Sara started her career in scientific publishing as an Associate Editor at PLOS ONE,  after which she worked for several other publishers in open access journals. She joined FEBS Press in February 2024 as Managing Editor. Prior to her scientific publishing career, Sara worked at University College London under the supervision of Prof. Max Reuter, where she carried out a postdoctoral fellowship on sexual antagonism in Drosophila melanogaster. She completed her PhD studies on parthenocarpic fruit development in Arabidopsis thaliana in the laboratory of Prof. Lars Østergaard at the University of East Anglia and the John Innes Centre.
