FEBS Junior Sections – Iva Tolic: Mechanobiology of mitosis and its role in mitotic fidelity

A webinar about the mechanobiology of mitosis and its impact on chromosome segregation fidelity, from Iva Tolić, at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, in Croatia. The event was organised by the HDBMB Young Scientists' Forum as part of the FEBS Junior Sections' 2022 series of online talks on key research and career topics.

On 8 September 2022, the HDBMB Young Scientists' Forum organised an online talk on behalf of the FEBS Junior Sections initiative. It was the ninth event of the initiative's 2022 series of talks on key research and career topics of interest to students and young researchers in the molecular life sciences across Europe. The talk was given by Iva Tolić, from the Ruđer Bošković Institute, Croatia, on the topic of mechanobiology of mitosis and how biased segregation errors of chromosomes may contribute to the distinct aneuploid karyotypes observed in cancers and during embryonic development. We share on this post a recording of the talk.

The event had over 132 registrations and 54 attendees, and the FEBS Junior Sections are delighted that the initiative continues to grow.

The next talk will be on Thursday, 13 October, organised by the by Young NVBMB (the Junior Section of the Dutch Society, NVBMB).
