About Debprasad Dutta
I, Debprasad Dutta, passionately work as a ‘Research Scientist’ at the Mazumdar Shaw Center for Translational Research (MSCTR) under the Mazumdar Shaw Medical Foundation (MSMF), in collaboration with Narayana Institute of Neurosciences (NIN), Narayana Health, Bangalore. My current work involves cell-based regeneration of stroke-induced neural damage with hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) adjunct and exploration of biomarkers predicting susceptibility to stroke. Prior to this, I completed my split-site commonwealth doctoral research at the Department of Human Genetics, National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), India and the Institute of Infection and Global Health, University of Liverpool, UK. In PhD, I have investigated comprehensive neuroimmunological profiling of Guillain-Barré syndrome owing to my passion for research in the field of Translational Neuroscience. Having BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees as well as two years of postdoctoral experience I published articles, supervised students, organized events and peer-reviewed articles, conference proceedings and books. I am an expert in Translational Neuroscience with 9 years of total research and academic experience. I have received prestigious awards including the Commonwealth Scholarship (UK), Developing Country Award (USA) and AWSAR Award (India) and ICGEB Best Talk Honor (Sri Lanka).
I actively engage in public outreach and present evolutionary neuroscience topics at National Science Days and other forums. Recently I gained the role of Commonwealth Mentor and Advisor of the Action Potential Advising Program (APAP). I secured the Assistant Professorship cum Junior Research Fellowship from University Grants Commission (UGC)-India. I also worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). My extensive memberships in learned societies reflect my commitment to advancing scientific knowledge. ALBA Network, American Peripheral Nerve Society (APNS), British Peripheral Nerve Society (BPNS), VALIDATE Network (Oxford University), American Society for Human Genetics (ASHG), Royal Society of Biology of UK, Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS), British Neuroscience Association (BSA), Indian Immunology Society (IIS), Indian Academy of Neuroscience (IAN), American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and other scholastic societies provided membership to me. Additionally, my volunteering experiences demonstrate a strong dedication to community engagement and mentorship. Recently I gained the role of Editorial Board Member of Frontiers in Neurology journal. I intermittently take shelter in poetry for solace.
