The XXII National Congress of Biochemistry takes place 24–26 October 2024, at the University of Aveiro, in Aveiro, Portugal. The event is centered around the theme of "Next-Gen Biochemical Challenges Across Borders" and is hosted by the Portuguese Society for Biochemistry (SPB).

The program includes plenary talks, symposia (listed below), workshops, poster sessions, oral communications, flash talks, sponsor presentations, and social events that will facilitate the exchange and dissemination of cutting-edge research in biochemistry, spanning both fundamental and applied aspects. The symposia covers the following topics:

  2. Molecular Foundations of (Non-Communicable) Diseases: Understanding the Mechanisms Underlying Pathology I
  3. Biosciences Education
  4. Exploring Environmental Driven Effects: Unveiling the Interconnections
  5. Molecular Foundations of (Communicable) Diseases: Understanding the Mechanisms Underlying Pathology II
  6. Harmony in Diversity: Global Perspectives on Omics in Biochemistry
  7. SPBf (Portuguese Biophysics Society) session: Proteins in action
  8. Biochemistry in Motion: Driving Practical Applications for Society and Sustainable Development Goals through Innovative Product Design (Organized by the SPB Junior Section: meet them at the event or on social media)
  9. Plant Biochemistry
  10. Food Biochemistry
