In the pursuit of knowledge and breakthroughs, scientists have long been at the forefront of innovation. However, as we strive for progress, it is crucial to pause and reflect upon the environmental impact of our scientific endeavors.

We don't just impact the environment through the millions of tons of plastic waste we produce with our tips, tubes and dishes; with the advent of high throughput approaches and the implementation of computational intensive methods, such as structure predictions or next generation sequencing, we also need significant amounts of resources every day.

How you many, you ask? We are about to find out! Join us to discover this, and also:

  • Which sustainable alternatives and protocols do exist?
  • How do you motivate others to join sustainable action?
  • Discover which sustainable character you are in our quiz!

Making Research Sustainable – A Practical guide is an online event series form the 28th to the 29 the of June from 17:00-18:30 CEST / 11:00-12:30 EST. Hosted by GreenLaboratoryWork it aims to promote sustainable practices in the research community. The event is designed to provide attendees with the tools and resources they need to reduce their environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Attendees to the event can benefit by learning about sustainable lab practices, networking, and gaining access to educational resources and sustainable lab products. The event will feature talks by sustainability experts, downloadable material, and a whole lot of inspiration.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics related to sustainability in research, including energy-efficient lab equipment, eco-friendly lab supplies, and waste reduction strategies. They will also have the opportunity to hear from researchers who have successfully implemented sustainable practices in their own labs, and to ask questions and share their own experiences.

Overall, Making Research Sustainable is an excellent opportunity for researchers who are interested in promoting sustainability in their labs to learn from experts in the field, connect with other like-minded individuals, and gain practical tools and resources for reducing their environmental impact.

Our platform is specifically tailored to allow for an immersive feeling – to really experience the passion of like minded partners. Register right here!
