The FEBS Journal invites you to take part in our cover image competition! Our authors, readers and referees are invited to submit an attractive cover image relevant to any of the topics that fall under the broad scope of The FEBS Journal.
Do you conduct research in any of the areas of research below, or work on interdisciplinary approaches? Then why not submit an image, which can be a photograph, drawing or other form of original artwork that reflects your incredible work: the winning cover image will not only be featured on the cover of an issue of The FEBS Journal, but there is also a cash prize of 500€ to be won! Smaller awards are also available for 2nd and 3rd place runners-up.

Cover images must be formatted in one of our accepted file formats, sized 21 cm (width) by 16 cm (height), in colour, without any labels or scale bars. Please supply an electronic copy of the figure, with a short accompanying caption (max. 15 words), following general guidelines in the ‘Preparation of electronic artwork for publication’ section here: https://febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/hub/journal/17424658/journal-menu/author-guidelines#electronic
Prizes
The winning entry will be awarded 500€ and runner-up prizes of 300€ and 200€ will be awarded for second and third place, respectively.
Deadline
Please submit your entries by Friday 9th April 2021.
Who can participate?
Cover image submissions from any active research scientist working in a field relevant to the journal’s scope will be considered. Importantly, the submitted image should not have been published previously as part of an article or on a journal cover.
How to submit
Send your entry to The FEBS Journal editorial team at [email protected], ensuring that your email bears the subject heading ‘Cover image competition’. Large files can be sent using a file transfer system such as WeTransfer or Dropbox.
The winning entries are likely to be featured on the FEBS Network and on The FEBS Journal website, Twitter and Facebook pages. Please provide your social media handles if you are happy for your entry to be highlighted on Twitter if selected as winner.
