In recognition of the 13th annual Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day and October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month Molecular Oncology Editors have compiled a collection of Research Articles that discuss recent developments and novel perspectives in breast cancer research.

This article collection spans a breadth of topics from emerging breast cancer biomarkers and mechanisms via which breast cancer metabolism can be reprogrammed to highlighting different routes that the breast tumour microenvironment can be modulated by. Many articles also describe detailed mapping of genetic and epigenetic profiles of breast cancers as well as ways to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities and take advantage of those for the prediction how effective therapeutic modalities will be against a continuously evolving disease.
