ENABLE's 3rd European PhD and Postdoc symposium “Next-generation life scientists: Side by side to break new ground” will be held in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, 13–15 November 2019.

ENABLE (European Academy for Biomedical Science, an initiative partially funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 programme) aims to involve young scientists in opening the academic world from within by promoting crosstalk between biomedical disciplines, collaboration with industry, and engagement with society. 

FEBS has previously sponsored the ENABLE PhD–Postdoc meeting and this year in collaboration with IUBMB is offering travel grants. The FEBS–IUBMB travel grants for the event have a maximum total value of €500 each. This is to cover the early bird registration fee of €110, and the awardee's accommodation and (part of) their travel costs. There are 14 awards available.

FEBS–IUBMB travel grants for ENABLE 2019

To be eligible for one of these travel grants, applicants must be registered as a PhD student at an institution of higher education in a country with a FEBS Constituent Society or an IUBMB adhering or associate adhering body OR be a junior postdoctoral fellow within 5 years of obtaining a PhD degree. Furthermore, applicants must:

  • Submit an abstract as a first author.
  • Send proof of being a member of a FEBS Constituent Society or an IUBMB adhering or associate adhering body to [email protected].
  • Not have previously attended FEBS YSF or IUBMB YSP meetings.
  • Not have received a travel grant from IUBMB or FEBS to attend an Advanced Course / Workshop / Congress / Focused Meeting in the last three years.

To apply, in addition to your scientific abstract, after the registration you will have to provide the event organizers with a brief motivation statement (max. 250 words) by sending it via email to: [email protected]
