Have you considered organising a FEBS Advanced Course?
These focused scientific courses on advanced topics in the molecular life sciences are organised by expert scientists with support from FEBS. They offer strong educational and networking opportunities for PhD students and postdocs, while helping build communities around emerging research areas.
Courses can range from lecture-based formats to practical workshops and specialised meetings. Some are co-funded with EMBO or IUBMB.

PROBio-Africa Fellowships 2026 – Application deadline
The PROBio-Africa Fellowships Programme is a joint initiative of FEBS, IUBMB and FASBMB, promoting research opportunities for biochemists in Africa.
The programme supports PhD students and early-career researchers based in Africa to spend 3–6 months in a laboratory in a FEBS country.
The aim is to provide access to technologies and expertise that may not be readily available in the applicant’s home institution, strengthening knowhow, skills and long-term collaboration.
đź’° Awards of up to EUR 7,000 are available to offset travel and living expenses.

The submission deadline for the FEBS Open Bio collection on Host–Pathogen Interactions has been extended to 11 March 2026.
The collection invites research on host–pathogen communication, pathogen tolerance and resistance mechanisms, and related molecular insights. The issue will be guest edited by Prof. Jan Potempa.
