This autumn, the Science Education and Public Engagement (SEPE) team at EMBL, in partnership with Merck, invites STEM educators and everyone curious about gene editing to join a free, on-demand course that enables participants to:
-
Discover how a bacterial immune system became one of the most powerful tools in modern biology, and how CRISPR-Cas9 works.
-
Learn from EMBL researchers how CRISPR is used in their labs, from making disease models to tackling cancer drug resistance.
-
Explore the ethics of genome editing with “Be Part of the CRISPR Conversation”, a ready-to-use EMBL teaching resource for students aged 16–19.
-
Earn a certificate of participation (with a ~2-hour workload per week).
Participants can join at any time throughout the course.
