The complex interactions between hosts and pathogens play a decisive role in determining whether infections are cleared or persist. From the host cell's ability to activate defence mechanisms, and the pathogen's capacity to counteract or manipulate these mechanisms, uncovering this intricate molecular crosstalk is essential for developing new therapeutic approaches and addressing the growing concern of antibiotic resistance.
FEBS Open Bio, together with Guest Editor Prof. Jan Potempa (Jagiellonian University, Kraków) will be curating a special collection of articles spanning the topic of host-pathogen interactions, including pathogen tolerance, resistance and persistence. We invite researchers in the field to submit their latest work and particularly welcome submissions that highlight the technological advancements and new methodologies that shed light on how host-pathogen dynamics can be imaged and studied.
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work in a well-read collection and advance research in a rapidly evolving field, while contributing to a scientific society. For more information please visit: https://febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/hub/journal/22115463/host-pathogen-interactions.
