Over the years, since returning to Taiwan after 19-year tenure (or 25, counting from the beginning of PhD training) at the Ohio State University, I had the vintage point to contrast the postgraduate training styles between US and Taiwan. That led me to a great deal of thoughts as to why and how things are different. In this invited talk at the College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, I will try to explore these issues from a seemingly strange angle, i.e., a good taste in science and mastery of storytelling power.
